Creative Techniques
This is where it starts to get fun.
We've heard it all and maybe even said it. "Look at that detail! How on earth did she do it?"
We've all seen furniture that is so amazing that we could never imagine turning out such a piece. But, if you learn the technique, you'll be a pro in no time. So let's get started. Jump in with both feet and experiment with the technique until you become proficient.
Distressing & Aging
There are a bunch of ways to take a new or old piece and give it character by applying different distressing and aging techniques. This is a "Pick your poison" type of art. Find the look you want and then match up the way to create it. This is the icing on the cake. How's that for mixed metaphors?
Decorative Painting/Techniques
Layering, stippling, cross hatching... Use one or use several. The world is your oyster. This is where your unique style and ability to envision come together. This is where your artistic side shines.
Specialty Tools & Resources
I learned too late in life that the job (or in this case, the project) is a whole lot easier if you have the right tools. Don't skimp in this area. Take it from me. You NEED the right tool.
